about me: I am a landscaper/gardener by trade with a regenerative approach. I’ve worked for myself for the past year and I am moving to Western Massachusets for the Ecological Landscape Design program at Conway in Northampton. Before landscaping I was farming on an organic veggie farm and before I worked for myself, I worked for a guy who had me doing general handy-work and basic remodeling in addition to landscaping.
I love riding my bike and swimming in natural bodies of water, working with clay, and finding the beauty in the mundane. I enjoy dancing and watching performances, I recently began horseback riding and hope to find a stable and continue in Massachusets. During the East Coast winter I am determined to finally become skilled at knitting and sewing <:)
I am coming from 4 years in a very lovely 8 person “soft” co-op in Seattle, WA. We have had a lot of success in this format and have grown as people, as a household, and as friends! My experience here has really evolved my view of home/community and has made me a better community member.
As a roomate, I am a calm and positive person. I am very independent but I love people, I am definitely not a “hide in my room” type and more of a conversation in the kitchen or open to go for a spontaneous walk together type. I am a conscientious and clean roommate, I will always pick up after myself, leave a space cleaner than when I found it and do the thing that needs to be done even if it means compromising or putting in a bit of hard work. In conflict I am not shy nor am I forceful, I always aim for understanding and I lean in to converesations that help find that. I see the room I live in as more than just a room, and the people I live with as more than just roomates. I really value investing in a space and the relationships of those you share it with.
My *dream* situation is a cabin with a woodfire stove, trees outside my window and landmates nearby. I would get a lot of joy from contributing to land projects and would be excited to be communal with people yet have my own space.
I also would be excited to live in a communal home with people and am open to anything that might be a good fit.
